1. Size. Height, trunk diameter, canopy spread. A 30-foot maple takes less crew time than a 70-foot oak.
2. Access. Can we get a bucket truck to the tree? Do we need to carry chunks out through a side yard? Backyard access via a gate that’s 4 feet wide adds real time.
3. Proximity to structures and lines. A tree over a house needs rigging or a crane. A tree next to power lines needs utility coordination. Both add cost.
4. Hazard level. A dead, decaying, or leaning tree is harder to work safely than a healthy one. Rigging pieces off a compromised trunk requires more skill and setup.
5. Cleanup and hauling. Included in every one of our jobs, but some crews charge separately or leave debris on site as a way to keep the sticker price low.
